Instrumental

To neglect the regular care of an instrument which
holds an average of 10,000 lbs of tension, is absurd
but not uncommon. (DW)
A regular piano tuning is "instrumental"
in maintaining it's value. Please help me abolish the ignorance.
f.y.i.
ignorance: def.; unaware or uninformed of a particular subject
"Now you know".

Cool Stuff

Just so happens, 2008 was the
80th year our family has been
in the piano business. My
Grand Dad
Wallace started
in 1928.
Tuning, rebuilding, maintenance,
re-stringing, refurbishing,
complete Investment restoration.
All that stuff.
The joy of it is two-fold:
the Art and the History.
In terms of the art, there is a
high level of skill that has been
passed on to me throughout my life.

There are but a few who can do a
great tuning job and be able to repair
and adjust the mechanics of the instrument.
This is what I grew up watching my Dad do.
The History is amazing and this is what
raises the level of respect for the instrument.
If you're not familiar with how the "piano"
was developed, it came from the

Harpsichord, which came from the Harp.

More next time.
